CR: Ocean Shallows and Haunted Hallows

Hello!

I have now moved onto biweekly update because my life is getting busier and busier with the minute with schoolwork and trying to Pura Vida as much as possible. I’m over halfway done with my program now! It’s crazy! I can’t believe it’s flown by so fast.

Last weekend our program took us to Tamarindo! It was beautiful and we stayed at a great resort. I got to spend some time getting to know my newest roommate Kelli, she’s a gem. On Saturday we went on a canopy tour, and of course, the daredevil in me decided to do it upside down and I had harness bruises for a week, but, PURA VIDA! One of the funnest things I’ve done so far. The Sunday before we came back home to San Jose I stopped by Pura Vida Smoothies. My best friend from home, who lives in Copenhagen, told me to visit and say hello to a few friends of his. The women who worked their were super nice and they definitely make the best smoothies in CR. So, if you’re ever in Tamarindo, definitely go there! It was a great weekend especially because I was able to spend time with people from our sister school in Heredia, and of course, playing volleyball as the sun set.

My life is pretty boring during the week, with classes and homework, no one wants to hear about that stuff. Overall though, I really like my professors and being in this new environment is really teaching me a lot. Because I’m not talking a Spanish course and only English courses now, I can sense that my Spanish is dwindling a little bit. Luckly, I have a Tico friend, David, who has been helping me tremendously. This passed weekend David took Kelli, her friend Leo, and I to a haunted hospital in Cartago called Sanitorio Duran. It was super creepy and perfect before Halloween! Click the link below for more information:

Anyway! This is my life up to date. I need to Adios because I have class soon! One thing about being abroad, is you really learn to appreciate your home. I really miss Salve family, the kids I work with in my home town, and my family. But you know what they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder.

SHOUT OUT TO THE SALVE REGINA CLASS OF 2015! SENIORS BABY!
