The Green Mountain: Monteverde

Last weekend I went to Monteverde, the Green Mountain. It is one of the most visited parks in Costa Rica, and one of the biggest as well. Overall, the city of Monteverde is amazing. My friends and I stayed at Sleepers Sleep Cheaper Hostel, sounds sketchy I know, but it wasn’t at all. It was one of the nicer hostels I’ve stayed at. For $10 you got a room with a bathroom (plus hot water), wifi, access to the kitchen, and breakfast in the morning. It was a steal. There is also this really awesome taco hut called TacoTaco. IF YOU GO TO MONTEVERDE, I REPEAT, IF YOU GO TO MONTEVERDE – YOU NEED TO GO TO TACOTACO. Plus the ladies that work there are the most genuine and loving people I’ve met here. While in Monteverde, my friends and I went Canopying, Bungee Jumping (Don’t worry Office of Study Abroad, I didn’t do it), and a night tour of the local forests. But probably the best experience was seeing the giant fig trees. I can’t describe how magical these trees were. You guys will just have to experience them for yourselves! Pictures below!

It is better to be poor and honor God than to be rich and live with angst.
